WARP 75, a device that was developed for NASA to experiment with plant growth in space, has been effective in reducing pain resulting from chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

The device uses High Emissivity Aluminiferous Luminescent Substrate, or HEALS, a type of LED technology that provides intense light energy. 288 LED's were used and each was supposed to generate the light energy equivalent of being illuminated by 12 suns. Using 670 nanometers of light technology, it was tested out on 20 cancer patients from Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, and 60 cancer patients from the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital and the Children's Hospital of Alabama, Birmingham.
