New Chocolate Pills Help Keep Your Heart Healthy
Researchers have introduced a new way to eat chocolate, in the form of a pill, which is calorie-free and even heart-healthy.
The Independent reported that the cocoa extract in the nutritional supplement, which includes the compound flavanols could improve blood circulation and help keep a healthy heart. Flavanol is a naturally occurring antioxidant particularly found in the cocoa plant.

According to the report, Barry Callebaut, the world's leading manufacturer of chocolate and cocoa, is planning to release flavanols pills.

These pills have already been approved by European health authorities. Callebaut has said it would team up with French nutrition supplement maker Naturex to produce and market an extract of flavanols.

EU food safety authorities have said that 200 milligrams of cocoa flavanols does improve the flow of bloody circulation.

People would need to eat roughly two dark chocolate bars to get 200 milligrams of flavanols. This would mean having about 350 calories and 20 grams of fat. Or four bars of milk chocolate, which would mean around 900 calories and 50 grams of fat. The pills offers a larger amount of flavanols, without the added calories and fat that makes chocolate so unhealthy.
