A UK drinks manufacturer has taken the technology used in aerosols to create a drink that can be delivered to the mouth in a spray form. Britvic, the makers, came up with Turbo Tango, the new aerosol-powered bottle which delivers the drink in a blast of foamy orange, a variant on the familiar fruit flavour.
The firm had collaborated with a team of more than 40 developers to create what is claimed to be the world's first plastic aerosol drink.
With a retail price of 1.60 pounds for 375ml the product is aimed at teenage consumers.
"Teen consumers told us they found the category "samey" and were ready for something genuinely new and different," the Daily Mail quoted Simon Stewart, marketing director at Britvic as saying.
"The reaction to Turbo Tango has been amazing from consumers and customers - we've certainly never had teens trying to buy a pack from us in research before," he added.
Labelling on the canister, it advise users to "Hold upright and squirt in your mouth (and nowhere else)."
