Negativity in the Environment Due to Workplace Bullying
When employees experience bullying at the workplace, it is not the victims alone who are hurt.
The environment in the workplace itself is charged with negativity which hampers work attitudes in the organization.

The views of 1700 workers were taken into account for this study which revealed that there is a strong connection between bullying at the workplace and the impression carried by victims as well as the others in the organization.

Bullying at the workplace also affected the health and work attitude of employees.

Dr Helena Cooper-Thomas, a senior lecturer in psychology at the University of Auckland, said, "The greater exposure a person had to bullying, both directly and indirectly, the more negative their perception of the work environment was. Often people tend to think of bullying as being just between individuals - a bully and a target. But our research shows that people who observe bullying are also affected, and those who both observe bullying and are targets of bullies are the worst affected and receive a double whammy effect. When you think of the ripple effect across a workforce from all those who are touched by bullying, the impact is significant."
