Need to Enhance Quality of Rural Healthcare in India: Tamil Nadu Governor K. Rosaiah
70 percent of India's private healthcare infrastructure was concentrated mostly in cities, said Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah. He asked medical professionals to come forward to take quality healthcare to rural areas at affordable cost.
Inaugurating the Dr A P J Abdul Kalam Center for Oncology and Linear Acceleration at Meenakshi Hospital, Rosaiah stressed the need for enhancing quality of rural healthcare.

Noble-minded and committed medical professionals should come forward to take quality healthcare to people in rural areas at an affordable cost, he said.

It was time the medical fraternity and non-governmental organizations joined hands to create awareness among people on the causes, prevention and detection of cancer at an early stage, he added. Earlier, Rosaiah unveiled a statue of the late Kalam in the hospital premises.
