National Programme for Control of Blindness Continues With Cabinet Approval

The National Programme for Control of Blindness will continue during the 11th five year Plan with an overall outlay of Rs.1250 crore after the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) today gave its approval.

The new initiatives of the National Programme would be to include diseases like Diabetic retinopathy (DR), Childhood blindness, low vision Aids, Squint, VR Surgery, Glaucoma, Laser techniques and Corneal transplantation Surgeries, within the ambit of the programme.
