 Narayana Health City Now Has 1400-bed Cancer Hospital

The Narayana Health City campus at Bommasandra now boasts of a 1400-bed cancer hospital thanks to a joint venture between Dr Devi Prasad Shetty and Kiran Mazumdar Shaw.

Dr Shetty is the renowned cardiac surgeon at Narayana Hrudayalaya, while Ms Shaw is the Managing Director of Biocon Limited. Named the Mazumdar Shaw Cancer Centre (MSCC), the new hospital is being touted as the one of the largest cancer hospitals of its kind.

The center will specialize in cervical cancer, breast cancer and head and neck cancers.

Dr Shetty and Kiran Mazumdar Shaw said at a press conference that the center would be affordable for cancer patients in a manner similar to Narayana Hrudayalaya.

The center has been built at a cost of Rs 300 crore.
