A major problem was averted at the Lokmanya Tilak Municipal General Hospital in Mumbai after its dean successfully managed to persuade more than 150 doctors to return to work after they had gone on a strike alleging manhandling by patient’s relatives.
The Lokmanya Tilak is one of the major hospitals in the city but had to deal with a major strike since 3am on Monday after the resident doctors refused to work, stating that one of their colleagues was manhandled by a patient’s relative.
The dean of the hospital met with the striking doctors and assured them that security inside the hospital will be increased in order to make sure that such an incident is not repeated in future while the relatives of the patient were also asked to behave in a proper manner.
