Moustaches and facial hair have benefits well beyond aesthetics, as a new study has found that they can reduce the risk of skin cancer. Using dosimetric techniques - instruments that measure the skin and show the amount of radiation absorbed over a given period of time - scientists from the University of Southern Queensland discovered that people with facial hair had reduced their skin's exposure to the sun by about one-third, News.com.au reported.
The results of this study said that the longer the facial hair was, the better it was at protecting against skin cancer.
