MOU Between Apollo Hospitals and AfroIndia Medical to Set Up Tele-medicine Units in Africa

A memorandum of understanding has been signed by Healthcare service provider Apollo Hospitals Group and Africa-based AfroIndia Medical Services to set up 30 telemedicine units in East and West Africa.

These telemedicine centers will make it possible for doctors in several African countries to exchange notes with specialists at Apollo.

Mukherjee Inaugurates Tele-education and Tele-medicine Centres in Addis Ababa
The much awaited Pan-Africa e-network got underway today when External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated a tele-education centre at the Addis Ababa.

First three units at Lagos were inaugurated by Dr Prathap C Reddy, chairman, Apollo Hospitals Group.

Speaking during the inauguration Dr Prathap C Reddy, chairman Apollo Hospitals, said, “Apollo’s MoU with AfroIndia Medical Services will pave way for availability of tertiary and quaternary health care to a large number of patients resulting in cost, effort and time benefit. Through the Apollo System, it will be possible to have virtual access to world class health care at affordable rates using cutting edge technology.”

Overseas Medical Practitioners Urged to Team Up With Indian Institutions: Azad
Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad suggested overseas Indian Medical Professionals to collaborate in building institutions in India.
