Most Annoying Words of 2013

An annual survey has declared 'whatever' followed by 'like' as the most irritating word for the fifth year running.

The Marist Poll found that 38 percent of Americans are particularly annoyed by the use of the word 'whatever', the Washington Times reported.

English Most Popular Language on Twitter
Despite English being the most popular language on Twitter, majority of tweets on the microblogging network are not in the mother tongue of the company's founders.

The second position on the list was taken up by 'like' with 22 percent votes.

Runners-up included 'Just saying' and 'obviously'.

The results mirrored 2012's survey where 'whatever' topped the list of most annoying words with 32 percent.
