Mobile App Ensures Availability of Medicines at Government Hospitals in Delhi
Residents of Delhi can soon know about the status of availability of medicines at government hospitals through a mobile app.
The government has planned to launch a mobile application to help patients to know about the unavailability of drugs and limit their unnecessary transportation expenses.

The primary aim is to provide free medicines round-the-clock and to avoid any inconvenience to patients seeking treatment at the government hospitals.

The government has also set up a helpline, 8745051111, through which patients can message the names of medicines that are not accessible from the state-run hospitals.

"The aim is to make medicines available 24X7 inside the hospital premises so that patients do not face any inconvenience. Usually, they have to run from one chemist shop to another to buy drugs," said Satyendra Jain, Delhi Health Minister.

Patients can upload a picture of prescriptions through the app, after which they will get a call or message informing them when the medicine will be available at the hospital.

The facility will be provided at five hospitals namely, Deen Dayal Upadhyay, Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital, Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital, Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital and Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital in the first phase.
