Mindful Eating can Help Control Diabetes
A recent study has pointed out that people living with diabetes can better control their weight and blood sugars with mindful eating.
Ohio State University researchers found that both mindful eating and the traditional self-management diabetes program were equally effective.

During the study, one group of participants employed the technique of mindfulness meditation for taking decisions about eating and food choices.

A second group concentrated on food labels and keeping tab on carbohydrates and fats to manage blood sugar levels, which is the conventional approach for managing diabetes.

The results pointed out that both the approaches were as good in managing diabetes blood sugars and controlling weight.

Carla Miller, associate professor of human nutrition at Ohio State University and lead author of the study said, “We studied two very different approaches, and we found they both worked. This means people with diabetes have choices when it comes to eating a healthy diet.”
