Western Rajasthan has set a milestone in medical history with the first bypass surgery of a Below Poverty Line (BPL) patient, Gulab Devi (70), in Jodhpur.
The three-storey cardio thoracic centre at the MDM Hospital was inaugurated by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. The CM praised Dr. Trehan for his contribution in beginning bypass surgeries in Jaipur and Bikaner besides Jodhpur.
Gehlot intends to improve health facilities in the state. He said, "Commencement of the bypass surgery is a major achievement towards this, which will do away with the compulsion of the people of this part of the state to go to other destinations for this expensive surgery." Source-Medindia
