Middle-Aged Woman Punches Doctor in Face Over Reported Delay in Treatment
Doctors and students at MS Ramaiah Hospital have registered a complaint with the police after a postgraduate surgeon was punched in the face by a middle-aged woman who was angry over a reported delay in the treatment of her 10-year old nephew.
Dr Suresh Shah reported sustained bruises on his face and is being treated at the same hospital. The boy was brought to the hospital following a broken leg and head injuries.

The woman and her nephew had reportedly fled the scene after the incident, though the police from Sadashivnagar police station have since then managed to trace her and have summoned for an investigation.

“The woman walked in around 8pm saying that her nephew had sustained injuries in a road accident. On examining, we discovered that his right leg was fractured. The boy, whose name is Piyush Singh, was crying out aloud in pain. The woman got angry saying we were deliberately delaying the treatment. The delay occurred because there were already patients in queue”, Dr N Ganesh, orthopaedic surgeon from the hospital, said.
