Men Think About Food as Much as They Think About Sex

Men Think About Food as Much as They Think About Sex
A new study by American researchers has dismissed the myth that men think about sex every seven seconds and instead revealed that they think about food as much as sex.
The study was conducted by researchers from Ohio State University who inducted 160 women and 120 men aged between 18 to 25 years. The participants were randomly divided into three different groups with 59 being asked to log how many times they thought about food, 61 about sleep and 163 about sex.

The researchers found that while men do think about sex more often than women, it was a vastly smaller number than thought of before. They found that men thought about sex 19 times a day with food coming a very close second at 18 times. Women on the other hand thought about sex 10 times a day while food and sleep registered an average of 15 and 8.5 thoughts a day.

“Frequency of thinking about sex is related to variables beyond one's biological sex. It's amazing the way people will spout off these fake statistics that men think about sex nearly constantly and so much more often than women do”, lead researcher Professor Terri Fisher said. The study has been published in the Journal of Sex Research.
