Medicare Employee Makes Fraudulent Claims of Baby Bonus, Finally Apprehended

This is a case of greed inciting a man to misuse his position to make money.

Using identities of the dead, a resident of Perth and an employee of Medicare thought he would go undiscovered when he made fraudulent claims of baby bonus and immunization payments from the government.

He had apparently created 58 fictitious children against whose names he had milked the government to the tune of 300 thousand dollars.

The 33 year old had access to the Centrelink records from where he obtained the identities of the dead and their tax file numbers. During an investigation related to Centrelink, the police sensed foul play and conducted a search at his home. The truth was out!

He has now been charged with abuse of public office, and could face a 20 year term in prison.
