Medical College Soon to be Set Up in Each District of Maharashtra: Chief Minister
On August 25, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, said that each district will soon have a medical college. The Chief Minister said the medical colleges will be set up with the help of private sector on public–private partnership (PPP) mode.
Speaking at a meeting, Chief Minister asked the hospitals registered under Charity Commissioner, as well as private ones to take a lead in providing quality health-care to the common man. Charity hospitals should not have motive of profit, he said.

Fadnavis also said the medical assistance cell in the Chief Minister's Office is working to ensure that the common man gets benefit of health assistance schemes.

He said the medical assistance cell was liaisoning to increase private participation in the health-care sector and also urge corporates to increase their corporate social responsibility (CSR) in the sector.

Fadnavis inaugurated the web portal of Charity Commissionerate, in which details of hospitals in the state are mentioned. He said citizens will get details of vacant beds in hospitals through SMS on their mobile phones.
