The marathon kicked off from the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital (JNIMS) gate, passed through Imphal city and ended at the head office of Sky Hospital at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) road.

Volunteers showed their enthusiasm in raising awareness about heart ailment cures.

"This event will raise awareness among the public and help facilitate the public for becoming healthier and taking care of them," said Samuel Lairikyengbam, a participant.

Alcohol and tobacco consumption is high in Manipur, resulting in rising heart attacks and heart diseases.

Government initiatives and efforts of such foundations help in creating awareness as well as promote a healthy way of living among the locals.
