Man Claims He Lost Custody of His Kids Due to Obesity
A 38-year old man in Ottawa, Canada, has claimed that he lost the custody of his two kids after doctors testified in court that he was too fat to take care of his children.
The father, weighing more than 360 pounds, was found to be unable to keep up with his energetic children during a court-ordered assessment of his health. The court ordered that the children will be put up for adoption as the father was not able to continue his daily weight loss program and also take care of the children.

The man, whose name was not revealed, said that he has not seen his children for more than a year as they were put in foster care after his wife was hospitalized following mental breakdown and suspected overdose. He added that he has lost 150 pounds in the last year and continues to maintain a strict weight loss regime every day.

Expressing his disappointment over the ruling, the man said told the Ottawa Citizen, “I can’t believe the judge called me extremely overweight. The judge didn’t take into account how much I had lost. The only thing they have against me is my weight. I’m not too fat to be a dad. I can be a good dad. I almost ate myself to death but these days I eat really healthy meals.”
