A group of Australian researchers reveal that the kids do not lose any excess weight in spite of consuming lower amounts of saturated fat.

At the end of six months, the researchers found that while the amount of calories from saturated fat decreased from 16.6 percent to 13.3 percent, the body mass index or the waistlines and overall weight saw no change.
National Dairy Council’s Greg Miller said that the only positive outcome of switching to low fat dairy products is the lower consumption of saturated fat. “A lot of researchers say that if we just get people to consume low-fat or reduced-fat products, we can have an impact on weight. The only thing given up is saturated fat, which you don't need”, he said.
