Researchers of LOPES (LOwer-extremity Powered ExoSkeleton) hope to get a rehabilitation device in the clinic by mid-2012, to assess motor skills and assist stroke victims to walk again.

Presently researchers are trying to make LOPES more compact and adjustment friendly for personalized training and therapy. In gait data from the users of LOPES will be used for helping scientists design walking algorithms for autonomous exoskeletons.
