LOPES Rehabilitation Device Helps Stroke Victims Walk Again
Researchers of LOPES (LOwer-extremity Powered Exo Skeleton) hope to get a rehabilitation device in the clinic by mid-2012, to assess motor skills and assist stroke victims to walk again. 'LOPES' is a 10year old project from the Netherland's University of Twente.
The newer version of LOPES provides better leg movements when compared to traditional rehabilitative devices like leg braces or the upcoming ReWalk.

Presently researchers are trying to make LOPES more compact and adjustment friendly for personalized training and therapy. In gait data from the users of LOPES will be used for helping scientists design walking algorithms for autonomous exoskeletons.
