She was in Mumbai on Wednesday to open a new cancer institute at the Fortis Hospital in Mulund and interacted with other cancer patients. Ray said that most of the people think that they are certain to die when diagnosed with cancer but having the courage to overcome that fear is vital if the patient is to get full benefit of the treatment.
"Courage and the right attitude towards life can overcome all odds. People ask me 'Lisa, what have you learnt? I tell them that I am still processing it. As a patient, I also had to go through fear and isolation. It's a human thing. Please tell people that conquering cancer needs attitude. It's all about your attitude", she said.
