Lamb Curry That Promotes Good Sleep Cooked by Anglo Indian Chef
Media reports indicate that an Anglo Indian chef has claimed to have created a lamb curry that will help people sleep.
Gurpareet Bains, the chef and TV presenter who made his name in 2009 after creating a "cancer-fighting" curry, claims his lamb masala produces similar effects to sleeping pills, the Daily Express reported.

The spicy dish contains an oil that is said to produce "intoxicating" effects.

The dish appears in his latest cook book, Indian Superspices, a collection of recipes designed to fight everyday illnesses.

Bains, who claims to turn traditional Indian dishes into disease-fighting concoctions, said he created the curry to help people combat the woes of sleep deprivation.

He said: "Its ingredients have been used for millennia for their tranquilising properties."

Bains' insomnia-fighting recipe contains nutmeg, a spice that contains a psychoactive substance.

Experts recommend eating no more than half a nutmeg in any 24-hour period and he recommends that no more than one portion of his curry should be eaten per day.
