Nearly one out of five women require surgery to set right the complications caused due to the weakening of pelvic muscles. The
procedure to add the sling, to support organs, lifts the bladder and helps relieve pressure. This prevents incontinence, a common problem in 25% of women after the surgery.
The study results have pointed out that implanting a
sling during the surgery reduces the risk of incontinence or the requirement for future surgery.
