 J&J Recalls Motrin Pain Relievers

Johnson & Johnson has issued another recall of Motrin pain relievers. This is the sixth recall within 2-years.

The recall covers about 12 million bottles of Motrin IB coated caplets in bottles of 24 or 30 each which were manufactured between February 2009 and July 2011. The Fort Washington, Pa.-based company, a division of Johnson & Johnson has recalled 59 lots as the pills may not dissolve and begin working as soon as intended as they approach their 3-year expiration date, which could delay relief of pain.

The company is only recalling packages from retailers and not consumers as there are no safety concerns. The affected packages were distributed in the United States, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, Fiji, Belize, St. Lucia and Jamaica. Affected lot numbers have been listed on the motrin.com website.
