Leading industrial houses including Tata Steel have joined hands with the Jharkhand government to form the Sarva Swasthya Mission Trust to ensure medicare to the state's Below Poverty Line population.
The Tata Group has pledged to contribute Rs 25 crore for the said purpose while Jindal Steel, Birla Group and Essar Group were expected to confirm their respective contribution to the Trust corpus soon, according to a Tata Steel release here.The Trust to be independently operated by a Mission Management Group would be a non-profitable one and would offer a wide range of medical services to the BPL families, it added.
