Health Minister for Jammu And Kashmir Appeals to People to Donate Blood
Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI and Trainings, Chaudhary Lal Singh inaugurated a blood donation camp in Kathua district by donating his blood and said, "People must volunteer and come forward to donate blood so as to save numerous lives."
The 3-day Heritage-Cum-Health Mela was organized by District Administration Kathua in collaboration with Health and Medical Education Department at Basholi town on orders of the minister. During the camp, about 15,000 locals including children were examined and provided free medical treatment and medicines.

The minister also felicitated volunteer blood donors and urged volunteers and social organizations to step up their efforts to motivate more and more people to donate blood generously for the human cause so that ample quantity of blood is kept available in all the hospitals to save lives.

Singh stated that health and medical education sectors were priorities for the government. He has mentioned that new schemes would be implemented which would provide free treatment for the children. New health centers would be opened in far off areas to make medical help more available. The minister also raised his voice against female feticide and appealed to the society to cooperate.

"Only government efforts are not adequate to tackle this social issue, but entire society is responsible for the situation and all right-thinking people including social and religious organizations have to put their efforts to keep a check on this menace," he asserted.

Later, the minister also inaugurated Eye check up camp where the team of doctors operated 38 patients and provided free treatment.
