Indian Health Ministry Continues Immunization Against Life-Threatening Diseases
The central government had identified 201 high-priority districts, which have been either partially or not been vaccinated at all. Under the government’s immunization mission ’Indradhanush’, children living there were being given vaccinations.
In a written reply to the Rajya Sabha, Health Minister J.P. Nadda said, "Under the mission, immunization was on against seven life-threatening diseases- diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, polio, tuberculosis, measles and hepatitis B. In addition, vaccination against Japanese Encephalitis and Hemophilus influenza type-B will be provided in select districts of the country. Vaccination against tetanus was also being provided to pregnant women."
