Indian Couple Face Arrest in Norway for Scolding Their Son
Extreme reaction to a simple and perhaps daily feature in many Indian households of reprimanding children by parents as a way to correct them, turned awry for an Indian couple from the IT city of Hyderabad who went to Norway on work.
Early this year, the couple has been charged with child abuse for scolding their seven-year-old son, Sairam, for bed-wetting.

The Indian couple, Chandrasekhar and his wife Anupama, has been arrested in Oslo and now the Indian mission there is doing their best to provide assistance to them in getting out of this mess.

According to reports, the boy in question, Sairam , son had expressed some sort of fear to return home from school after his dad had scolded him for bed-wetting. They had apparently threatened that they would send him back to India if he continued with the habit.

On hearing this, the school filed a complaint against the couple and the children of the couple were sent to foster care by Norwegian authorities. The child services investigated the matter for nearly six weeks after which the children were handed over to the parents.

In November, Chandrasekhar received a legal notice to appear at a local Norwegian court. Following the hearing, the couple have been taken into custody and sent to remand for five days.
