Gynecologists have noted an increase in the success rate in
conception of women using In-vitro fertilization (IVF) since November 2010. Renowned
gynecologists, Dr. Indira Hinduja and Dr. Kusum Zaveri cited that the success of
IVF in 1980s was a meager 10-15%. Then it gradually went up to 30% but over the
last few months the success rate has surged up to 72%.
Both gynecologists plan to submit a research paper about the
techniques they have developed and the reasons for the increase in the conception.
They have also announced the launch of their new IVF clinic at the Hinduja
Hospital. The present cost of IVF treatment is Rs. 80,000- 1lakh per couple. With
an increase in the number of patients at the Hinduja Hospital the doctors are
looking forward to carry out more research on IVF and also bring down the cost
of the treatment.
Hinduja Hospital
management plans to spend Rs. 1.5 crore as a capital investment for the
proposed project and equip the hospital with latest technologies to treat even
the most difficult cases like male infertility.
