Developers are pressing ahead with plans to build the world's largest Ferris wheel on the shoreline of storm-torn Staten Island while New York City is recovering and repairing in the wake of the damages caused by 'Superstorm Sandy'.

In an ambitious attempt to draw tourists to the city known now as the 'forgotten borough', the world's biggest Ferris wheel will be built on Staten Island.

Wheel developer Richard Marin said that the project stands to provide a one-of-a-kind boon that Staten Island 'would have no other way of getting right now', the report added.
