Hy-Result, An In-App For More Accurate Blood Pressure Readings

Hy-Result empowers you to easily and accurately measure and track blood pressure (BP) at home so you can get the treatment before any complications set in. The Hy-Result algorithms were developed at the Georges Pompidou Hospital in Paris to replicate how a physician would study the numbers. In a recent study in Blood Pressure Monitoring Journal, the Hy-Result software showed a nearly 90% correlation with physicians’ classifications of patients’ BP status.

Now the same algorithms are available for $5 to anyone using a Withings wireless BP cuff in the form of an in-app purchase within the iOS Health Mate app. The software performs three BP measurements in the morning and evening for five consecutive days.

After the measurement period, the software combines the readings with entered data such as age, pre-existing conditions, drugs taken, and other parameters. This boils down to an overall score and a set of suggestions that the patient can follow and also share with their personal physician for a review.

Withings, maker of smart scales, activity trackers, wireless blood pressure cuffs, and other devices, has released the new in-app.
