Three simple tests can assist doctors in ascertaining whether recovering stroke patients can drive.

Keeping this in mind, researchers conducted several screening tests on patients recovering from stroke. Patients also appeared for on-road driving tests, and out of 1,728 patients, 54 percent passed the tests.
The screening tests do not take more than 15 minutes and are good to find out how the patients would fare on the roads. These tests matched the expectations in actual road driving tests with an accuracy of 80 to 85%.
