Major honey manufacturers in the country have refused findings from the CSE that their products contained high levels of antibiotics.

Baba Ramdev’s Patanjalee Yogpeeth, who make the Patanjali Pure Honey, said the CSE was creating fear in the name of research.
The Himalaya Drug Company said that the honey made by the company is sourced from different forests in India, “Himalaya Forest Honey sold in India complies with quality standards set by the Export Inspection Council of India (EIC) for export grade honey. Two antibiotics – oxytetracycline and chloramphenicol, for which the EIC has set clear limits, are ‘not detected’ in Himalaya Forest Honey. This is corroborated by the CSE report. Himalaya’s products comply will all mandatory regulations set by the Government of India,” a company statement said.
The CSE report had said that honey made by Hitkatri Pharmacy was absolutely pure.
