Here's Why Wrinkles are More Prominent Near Your Eyes Than Forehead

As we age, our skin loses its moisture and elasticity, making it prone to wrinkles. But if you observe closely, you will notice that wrinkles are more prominent on certain parts of face and shallow on other. A new study conducted on cadavers has suggested that differences in the number of oil-secreting glands in the skin may help explain why wrinkles are shallower in the forehead than in the outer area of the eye.
The researcher team suspects that the presence of oil-secreting glands and a thinner inner layer of skin or dermis let the skin deform more easily and might be a cause for the development of wrinkles.

The study appears in Clinical Anatomy.
