Helping Smokers Quit With Free Nicotine, Patches, Gum

The B.C. government has planned to provide free drugs, patches and gum to smokers to encourage them to give up the habit.

From September 30th onwards the government will provide smokers with a 12-week supply of patches, gum and anti-smoking prescription drugs to help them quit the habit.

The burden of smoking associated diseases proves costly to healthcare, and run into an estimated $600 million annually.
