Happiness lies in simple acts, like counting ones blessings and being grateful for them. It is also in the expression of gratitude that people can find happiness.

A recent study conducted in the US found that gratitude is one of the most important factors that contribute to total happiness. According to researchers, happiness is defined as experiencing a positive emotion, engagement with family, friends, work and having a sense of purpose in life. Ultimately, happy people find life meaningful.

The study also found that talking to people or expressing gratitude saw happiness increase between 4 and 19 percent.

The key to happiness is not to chase big things but finding it in the simple acts of life like expressing gratitude.
