
Chinese state media is reporting that the hand, foot and mouth disease virus has killed three children in the country so far.
Some 110 others have been sickened from the virus. Xinhua said the children who died came from different towns in eastern China and were less than a year old.

The report also said that eight epidemic prevention experts had been dispatched to the province to help bring the disease under control.
Hand, foot and mouth disease is common in young children and spreads through direct contact. China has had a few instances of disease outbreaks lately. Anhui was the worst-hit province with 26 deaths when the disease hit the country in March this year.
