Dr Janet Wreglesworth, a 43-year-old GP was frustrated at work and hence was driven to suicide, an inquest into her death has heard.
Dr Wreglesworth's husband revealed that he was shocked as there was no indication that his wife was frustrated. Dr Wreglesworth committed suicide by overdosing on anti-depressants and alcohol.Mr Wreglesworth told the inquest that his wife was facing problems adjusting to the business side of her practice. "She didn't like running the business side of things and she didn't like the interviewing process because she wanted to be a doctor - the thing that she was good at," he added. "None of it makes any sense. We'd just booked a holiday."
Dr Wreglesworth had been prescribed anti-depressants as she was being treated for depression. At the time of her death she had high levels of the antidepressant dosulepin and alcohol in her body.
