Global malnutrition needs to be sorted out more comprehensively than by just providing temporary international food aid- say the editors of journal PLoS Medicine.
Recently, nutrition experts at a two-day meeting in New York City, organized by Columbia University's Institute of Human Nutrition and the humanitarian organization Médecins sans Frontières, called on the international community to urgently focus its efforts on delivering more food aid, of better quality, to prevent and treat malnutrition in the highest-burden areas.
