Gender Differences Creep Into Our Shopping Impulses Too!

by Medindia Content Team on Oct 17 2009 10:42 AM

As per the results of a recent poll, women are more likely to act on impulse and give in to bargains while men blow the dough on getting the biggest and best product.

The Lonergan Research survey revealed majority of Aussies overspent while shopping, with three in five Aussie females confessing to losing control over purchasing.

Experts found that not giving enough time to shop for a better deal, being worn out for shopping, taking a shop assistant's recommendation, or pressure selling from staff were some of the reasons big bucks were shelled out, reports the Daily Telegraph.

RMIT University marketing expert Dr Con Stavros explained most people do not stick to particular companies or products and want no excuse to step into a mall.

Dr Stavros said: "We are much more promiscuous when it comes to brands."

The poll was carried out for online department store DealsDirect.com.au
