A shocked Paladini handed him 70 pounds and urged him to
clean up his act.
A spokesman for Paladini said: "Gianni recognised Paul and
saw he was in a bad way.
"He was drunk, smelled of booze and was upset. Gianni was
shocked. He gave him some money and told him to have a meal and clean himself
up. He then put him in a cab and sent him on his way," The Sun quoted the
spokesman, as saying.
"When Gianni heard he'd tried to commit suicide, he was very
upset."
He is presently recuperating in a mental health unit
of Chelsea and Westminster hospital.
