Fortis Healthcare To Invest Rs 1,500 Crore To Increase Bed Capacity In Punjab

Fortis Healthcare plans to increase bed capacity in Punjab to 1,500 beds and plans to expand its facility by adding oncology center in every hospital in Punjab.

Fortis healthcare announced that it plans to invest Rs 1,500 crore to double its hospital bed capacity in Punjab, besides setting up a medical university in the state.
"We will increase our bed capacity in Punjab to 1,500 beds with an investment outlay which has already happened and which is happening at Rs 1,500 crore," said, Fortis Healthcare, Executive Chairman, Malwinder Mohan Singh, while addressing Progressive Punjab Investors Summit.

Fortis Healthcare has launched its multi-specialty hospital and woman hospital in Ludhiana in 2014.

"We have also expanded our specialty oncology center at Mohali 2015. We have also bought additional land in Mohali to double its capacity," he said.

"We have started expansion of our facility in Amritsar and adding oncology in every single hospital in Punjab," he further informed.

"We need to do a lot more in the state... For best medical health care infrastructure, we are delighted to announce medical university in Punjab which is an additional expansion what we are doing beyond existing businesses," said Singh.
