Food Allergies on the Rise in Australia
Food allergies are becoming a common challenge, and statistics show one in 10 babies born in Australia run a risk of developing a food allergy.
Food allergies can cause severe threat to health as well as elevate the risk of death. It is high time consumers and food businesses address this problem and find new ways to increase the awareness of food allergies.

It is imperative to know that the nine foods which are behind 90 per cent of food allergies are fish, soy, wheat, milk, peanuts, sesame and treenuts.

Experts say that the first step to prevent severe allergic reactions is to know what one is consuming, and food labels must have all the details to equip the consumer with the right information.

"The law requires food businesses to provide accurate information when a customer asks about potential allergens in the food they are served," said nutritionists.
