A five-year old boy is finally getting his wish fulfilled with a trip to the barber for the first time in his life in order to trim his 18 inch-long locks. Rean Carter has never had his hair cut after his mother decided to let his hair grow long. He was often mistaken for a girl by strangers and though he initially laughed it off, bullying at school meant that he demanded that his parents take him to cut off his long hair.
“It was only when he joined school and had to have it tied back in a ponytail, for health and safety, that some of the other little boys began to make fun. They said he could not play with them because he looked like a girl. I've already cried at the thought of him having it cut, and will cry again when it actually happens”, his mother Leeanne Smith said.
