First State Arthritis Awareness Program Held In Telangana, India
The World Arthritis Day is observed on October 12 each year to raise global awareness on arthritis, rheumatic diseases and musculoskeletal conditions. Rheumatology Association Hyderabad chapter organized the first Telangana State Arthritis Awareness program on October 11.
Experts from the field of rheumatology addressed the gathering, which included 50 patients suffering from chronic disease. Experts briefed them about the remedies and cleared their queries.

Singer Kausalya shared her experiences at the event. She said, “I ignored the pain and underwent severe trauma for the last 11 years. I feel it’s my responsibility to share my experience as it may help someone identify the disease and get treated in time.” Rheumatologist Association office bearers Raj Kiran, A.N. Roy and others spoke on the occasion.

Arthritis is a group of conditions affecting the joints that cause symptoms of joint pain and stiffness. It can affect people from all ages. Some of the common form of arthritis are osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gout, lupus and others.

Early diagnosis and prompt treatment are essential for the management of arthritis and to lead a normal life.
