An FIR has been lodged with the Delhi police
against the 7 Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) who did not turn up for the
biometric attendance which was conducted by the agency.
This biometric evaluation was conducted to
verify the authenticity on the allegation that there are over 22,000 'ghost
employees' who withdraw their salary. Even the MCD had fumbled for answers and
failed to quote exact figures when the Delhi High Court questioned them about
the total number of employees- permanent and temporary.
The last year's affidavit by the MCD states
that it has more than 1.27 lakh permanent employees and 43,000 temporary
employees which means that the civic body is one of the biggest employers in
the world. But then the High Court wondered whether all these employees are
really working?
