Concern and fear looms large in the minds of old people and close relatives of the old, as a recent survey revealed the high risk of abuse and ill treatment in care homes for the aged.
One out of six care homes did not give proper treatment to patients and the most important aspects of dignity and respect was being compromised, inspections by the Care Quality Commission found.
Nearly 70% of adults are scared to enter care homes due to risk of poor treatment and abuse. The worrying part is, not much is being done to tackle this issue. Close relatives feel that quality of care is being compromised in care homes.
