 Facebook Depression

"Facebook depression" is a new term coined by The American Academy of Pediatrics to describe a condition experienced by teens and preteens who spend a lot of time on social media sites and begin to portray typical symptoms of depression.

The manner in which children use social networking sites can trigger stress and depressive feelings. Since many children rely on the internet and cell phones to socialize, it is important that parents comprehend the online world in order to help and protect their children from its negative effects.

Parents must warn children about the dangers of sexting and cyber bullying, which can lead to emotional problems during their growing years.
